It's wonderful to have you join.
Allow me to be your First Watcher.
Now, let me tell you a few things to start you off.

Watchers;
You can Watch others, as well as other Deviants can Watch you, so basically, when you Post Journal entries, work or critics, you and your Watchers will usually be notified.

Groups; You can join, or create groups for whichever reasons. There are many with different purposes, such as Fan clubs, Role playing and just for fun.

Favourites;
As you might imagine, you can Favourite things here on DA. Just click 'Add to Favourites' at the side of a Deviation. If you have Folders in your favourite section, if you hover over the arrow when favouring something, you may choose which folder to save it to. The rest may be edited if you go into your Favourites up the top.

Journals;
You can write journals whenever you wish. They can be about anything you want, and your use of letter or words is limitless.

Prints;
When submitting a deviation, you can choose if you wish to print it or not. Now, this doesn't mean, Print it from your printer. By making prints, it allows other Deviants to buy your artwork and order them on mugs, shirts, magnets, and many other things. The details are in the print menu, which will come up Every time you submit a deviation.

Advice and some rules;
Now, as a deviant, you, as well as everybody else have the ability to Report and Block other users. You don't want a report yourself, so be nice. Block, means you won't see anything to do with the person after you block him/her. Reports, can get you banned, if bad. Don't copy, don't steal, be nice, and if using anything not made by you, be sure to give credit. They could report.

Llamas and badges;
Llamas and badges, are basically badges you can receive and give to other Deviants for good work; or other purposes. They show you have earned prizes for good work. And after getting Ten, you can upgrade Super Llama. That means all the Llamas you get in the future will be higher than normal ones. Now, while Llama are free, other badges you use Points to give. You can give One Llama per person, and badges are endless.

Points and Premium Membership;
There are two ways to earn these. You can buy them yourself, or other people can buy you a membership or donate points. With Points, you can donate to others, buy badges and if you save up enough, you may buy yourself; or another a Premium Membership.
The Premium Membership has many features, which you can look at yourself in the details.

Personal note;
Your personal note is a small paragraph, 1-100 letters that is seen by others under you comments. It can be changed anytime by going into settings. The settings can be located by hovering over your username at the very top of the screen. (You cannot use Icons in the text. You can use similes though)

Notes;
Notes are Private messages that can be sent to other deviants. Private, meaning that only you and the other deviant can see. Comments can be seen by everyone.

Add a Drawing;
Is a small feature at the bottom of comments. Before posting a comment, you'll see a button that says ' Add a Drawing' Click that to open a small paint tool where you can draw a picture to go with your comment. Like I have Underneath.

Icons and smiles;
Icons and smiles will be seen a lot around Deviant Art.
We'll take my one for an example. Now, the pictures beside deviants are called Avatars. But you can make them appear by using the Icon method. To make an Icons Appear, you do this -

Okay, I'll show you a deviant Art one. I'll leave a space between, but normally you don't leave spaces, without them, the Icons won't appear.

Now we try without spaces -

When trying to make an Avatar Appear, you don't add the 'plz'

This is what you want, but without the spaces again.
See?

You'll get the hang of it.
Now then Smileys, are slightly different, and are good to start with.
For Smiles, you just do this (No Spaces) --> : omg : =

By hovering over Smileys and Icons, you can find out what code to type in. You can change your own avatar by clicking the edit button on your current avatar, on your page. Also, Icons, smileys and Avatars can be animated. Meaning they move.
